IAEE Leadership Spotlight - Jack Lehmann - Vice-Chair
Tell us a little about yourself.
I am currently a program manager at Resource Innovations, where I manage the Trade Ally Program for MidAmerican Energy. I enjoy working with and building relationships with contractors across the state in a variety of trades. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and new son, as well as cooking, exercising, and being outdoors.
What brought you to IAEE? To IAEE leadership?
I joined IAEE to learn more about the industry and connect with professionals in similar roles. I joined the leadership team to help shape the organization's future and gain more experience working with a nonprofit.
What personal benefits have you received as a member of the Association?
One of the biggest benefits has been building connections with experienced industry professionals I would not typically interact with in my day-to-day work.
How do you think the Association has helped to shape the energy efficiency industry?
The association has helped bring together professionals from utilities and organizations of all sizes and has created opportunities to share knowledge and strengthen the energy efficiency industry.
How has the organization changed since you first joined?
The organization has welcomed many new faces, both among general members and in leadership roles. Many individuals have done an excellent job supporting the organization over the past five to ten years, and they are now stepping back to make room for a new generation of energy efficiency professionals.
How do you think the Association is relevant today? Or could be?
I believe that the rapid increase in demand that is going to result from a push for new and larger data centers, is going to create a renewed focus on energy efficiency in Iowa to keep rates affordable and service reliable. The Association gives people in the industry a place to share ideas and learn from each other and can grow and position itself as an authority and resource within the state.
Share your favorite memory of your involvement with IAEE.
My first event with the association was a networking event at a local brewery in Des Moines. I will never forget how friendly and welcoming everyone was to me as a new member.
Please feel free to share any other thoughts.
If any members have not taken the chance to join a committee, I highly recommend you give it a chance. It is open to all members, it is not a huge time commitment, and it allows you to meet new industry professionals and learn more about how the organization functions.
